The tryouts for the JV team at my school is on the 25th and I'm not sure if i should tryout. The team will be made up of 9th and 10th graders and I'm a 9th graders. I couldn't practice this whole summer because i've been really busy and really stressed. I know at the tryouts everyones going to be ALOT better than me because I'm not exactly the best player. I don't want to humiliate myself in front of the other girls. But i LOVE volleyball and i don't know what to do. Should i practice this year and tryout next year or should i go for it? Please help me. Any advice is really appreicated. Thanks

  1. i think you should definitely try-out...who cares what everybody else thinks? dont worry about the other girls, just go out and do your best. if you love volleyball, then go for it! who knows..maybe you'll make it! just remember that everybody makes mistakes, so you can relax. just do your best!

wish you the best of luck!

  2. I say definately try out. if you don't make it so what then practice the whole year and come back and blow them away.. I say before the tryouts just pass against the wall as much as you can. I always do this before a game and stuff because your body starts to get used to the lower position and its easier to stay low when you pass. Make sure you are vocal.. coaches lover players who are loud on the court. but make sure you also listen to the coach. many good players don't make it if they don't listen and just goof around. Try to be confident. If you aren't confident then you will not play nearly as good. but DEFINATELY TRY OUT..

  3. just go for it if you don't you will always wonder "what if..."

  4. go for it girl! you never know how it may turn out...and you may actually regret not trying out later on ..... all you can do is your best...and thats all the coaches expect.

so my suggestion is to start practicing ASAP.

don't worry about humiliating yourself in front of the other girls....

just focus on you ....and be enthusiastic...coaches love when you yell out "MINE" or "I'VE GOT IT" when a ball is coming towards you or being passed to you.
