  1. I am an experienced volleyball player, i've been in it for 3 years, so I know what I'm talking about.

    Here's somethings to practice:

    1.Work on serving.

2.Work on hitting the ball over the net so it will be hard on the other team, to hit it.

    3.Be quick on your feet

    4.Have good wrist posture.

5.And, last but not least, try not to fall, during practice, bigg noo no

    hope i helped

  2. I coached some college VB many years ago, and we usually looked for several things.  Position, know where you need to be based on your position.  If you are an outside hitter you need to know that you will usually be playing short for the dinks.  We also looked for really strong passers, all the hitters in the world are no good without the strong pass to get it started.  A strong serve is also something that can make you stand out at tryouts, if you don't have a strong serve then at least make it consistent.  Hope this helps.

  3. well...it depends what you need help with.

    for serving:

try to serve a ball against an empty wall.  the goal is to get it to come back to you. if there is someone to play with, serve it to them and try to aim right for their shoulders.

    for passing/bumping/hitting:

throw the ball agains that same empty wall. try to hit it as many times as you can. start easy...maybe like 15. then try to get to 100! it isnt as easy as it sounds!

    for setting:

just set it in the air to yourself.  do as many as you can in a row without catching it.

hope this helps! if you need anything else, feel free to email me!  good luck! i am sure you will do fine♥

  4. Ha! I am trying out too this wednesday for my high school. Usually tryouts are pretty laid back. First they would probably start with warm ups, streghchin and stuff like that. They would see what kind of skill do u have and what level u r on. Such like surving, spiking, setting, bumping, and stuff like that. The coach will watch during drills to see how good u r.  Remember to call out the ball, that make u stand out from others.  Come prepared with knee pads( definitely dive for the ball), spandex, court shoes, knee socks, and thongs( girls only, lines r ugly). Drink lot's of water to stay hydrated.

At home u can practice bumping on a wall or something, have a friend get the ball for u while u practice surving, and practice how to approach .

  5. Well for tryouts coachs will be looking at your hit, setting, and passing. It will be like you are doing a volleyball drill but the coachs will watch and observe.  Work on all your skills but also remember about positions. If you want to be a setter then make sure that your setting is your best skill, but make sure that you have a basic idea of hitting and passing.

Also attitude. i've played for five years and my mom has coaching exsperience and she always looks for attitude.  Make sure your possitive and always incurage everyone even if you don't know them

    Good Luck!  (:

  6. Of course I would love to help. A couple of things that they look for in tryouts are/ could be...

If you try hard and can take criticism( it will help in the long rub)

Make sure you are on time

Most of all ; Make sure you know the basics, like bumping, setting, hiiting, sliding.

A couple drills that could help you are ..

Find a line and jump front to back, side to side.( This will help you to be quick and light on your feet.

Bump, set, hit, to a wall or a partner

Most of all be ready to run, Im not talking about miles and laps and laps. I am talking about sprints and slides and squats and what not. Also when you are on the courts make sure that you TALK to oneanother...

Call..... Help, GOT IT, MINE, UP, OVER, JUMP, HERE,
