  1. It's a set to your opposite hitter, the player who is opposite the setter in your rotation. It's a higher set that goes all the way down to the antenna behind the setter. So if the setter is facing the outside hitter (the 4 set) he/she sets backwards instead of forwards.

  2. a 5 set is also known as hut or outside...that means the far left on the court...it usually means high, above the antenna...unless hitter calls 5 push, that means push it right above the net by about 4 inches to the outside position... but that's not for a while...you need a little more skill before you do that i think, but maybe I'm wrong! GOOD LUCK! you will do great!

  3. For us it is when you set to the opposite hitter.

  4. it is when you set in position 5

  5. in my system is was between the net and 10 foot line but out by the antenna.

  6. high outside set in zone 4

  7. it's for your Left hitter/ outside hitter it's a high sett

  8. It depends on what the coach, captain or setter have made it. Usually its an high outside set to the outside hitter.

  9. it is a set to the opposite.. if you're at the pocket(target spot) you backset.. its pretty hard to do since back sets are hard

  10. A '5' set is a front row set to the right side.  It is a high, slow set which goes all the way to the antenna.  A 5 is not to be confused with a 'Back 3' (sometimes called a  'Red').  The Back 3 is also to the antenna, but has significantly more pace.  It is also not to be confused with a 'Back 2' which is slightly behind the setter, and not very high above the net, intended to be a quick attack as well.

The advantages of a 5 set are that it's an easier set to execute from the setter's perspective, and easier to attack from a hitter's perspective.  The slow pace of the set allows the blockers to set up, and at a high level, there should always be two blockers against a 5 set.

  11. normally a high set to the outside hitter, but it depends on what your coach says
