Volleyball womens uniform question?

why are they so revealing?

Volleyball players wear tight, sometimes skimpy uniforms because they are less constricting, so we can move as quickly as the sport requires.  Also, the uniforms are made with cooler fabrics, like Underarmor, to assist the fit in keeping the player cool.

If the small bikini uniforms are about performance and convenience then why don't the men's olympic volleyball teams wear speedos?  They wear tank tops AND shorts.  

The argument that bikinis are necessary for the sport doesn't make sense.  What does is scantily clad women get higher ratings.  Sad.  Olympics to me should be about athletes not Sports Illustrated. Or.. at least axe the double standard and make the men wear speedos:)

Speaking of athletes - Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh are so unbelievable!!!!

It is true that the uniforms help to draw spectators, and it is sad that the women have had to stoop to that level. But you have to remember that until Misty May and Kerri Walsh came on the scene, beach volleyball struggled to survive because they attracted very few sponsors. That's also why during regular season matches the women have tattoos of sponsors all over their bodies. Also, it is beach wear...they are wearing more than some other women do to go swimming, as are the men!
