  1. bumping-

put your left hand on top of your left so that your fingers cross eachother, bt dont overlap. make sure they are even. press ur thumbs together so that they meet in the mm iddle, and press ur wrists together. extend your arms. this is your platform. you want to contact the ball between your wrists and where your elbow i, but on the flat part of your arm. when you c the ball coming to you, move your feet, both feet, to the ball, put your platform out, bend your knees and get ready.  use your legs to push up and slightly swing your arms to pass the ball towards your target. try not to jump and swing your arms too much. tip: run with your arms apart. youll run faster. then put your platform together and get ready to pass.

    setting-

put your hands on your hips. see the wrinkles in your wrists? thats how it should look when u are setting. lift your hands up and put them right above your hairline. make sre your hands are ball shaped. this is your form to set. when the ball comes to you, move your feet to the ball. your last two steps should be left right, if you can. bend your knees, contact the ball, push up with your arms and legs. you dont want to catch the ball. if you contact it correctly, the ball should spin. your follow through should look like your arms are like superman. out extended  above you, hand even. tip: you can do a little hop to give it extra oomph.

    hitting-

if youre a righty, footwork is left, right left, jump hit. if left, do the opposite. (right left right jump hit) keep your arms loose. once the ball is in the setters hands, start your approach. take your first step and put your arms our in front of you, like a zombie. do your second step, and swing your arms allll the way back as far as they go. take your third step and throw your arms up as high as they can. this will give you momentum and more height. if you are a righty, use your left hand to spot the ball and bring your right hand back, like you are about to throw a football. then swing and hit the ball with your gith hand. if you are a lefty, do the opposite. tip: if you are a righty, start with your right foot in front and weight on your left foot. if not, do opposite.

serving- if righty, start with your left foot slightly in fron, and feet should be shoulder width apart. hold the ball with your left hand out in front of you, pull your right hand back like you are about to throw a football. toss the ball, not too high or too low, about as high as your reach, and swing your arm through the ball. tip: practice first by starting at the 10 foot line. get 10 over, take 2 steps back. get 10 more over, take two more steps back, etc.

just practice. lots and lots of practice. by yourself, with a friend, even with ur mom or dad. anytime you practice is helpful. hope this helps! =]

  2. BUMPING- Jump up (vertically) to meet ball.

Contact the ball at the peak of your jump with a straight arm.

Check landing spot, which should not be more than a distance of one foot past the contact point

SETTING- Start in the ready position facing the target.

Spread fingers in the shape of the ball above the head.

Form a triangle with thumbs and pointerfingers (hands should not be touching)

Place hands directly in front of the face close to the forehead. This position is called NEUTRAL and is always the starting position for the set.

On contact, set by extending the arms and legs.

SERVING- Stand facing the net with the foot opposite the hitting hand forward.

The ball is held at waist level.

The player leans forward as they swing their arm foreward and contact the ball.

The hand holding the ball is dropped just before the contact.

The player hits underneath the ball with the fist or heel of the hand.

The hitting arm follows through in the direction of the target.

    GO GET TO SPIKIN!
