  1. Get a partner. Parent or friend. Hav them trow the v-ball in the air and you set it back to them. It will work.

  2. Try this site:  http://volleyball.about.com/cs/setting/h...

    and then http://y-coach.com/setting.html

and to get a more visual, order this tape:

  3. Setting it to a wall, grab a friend and set it to her/him, as a coach specific drill that can help. My coach helped with my issue with setting.

  4. A good setting exercise is to put the volleyball against the wall put your hands in setting position and set the ball rapidly.

  5. well setting to a wall helps... and if u hav someone with you and a basketball net, set over it. thats wat we did in school for practice. And Use a Setter's ball which is lik a 5lb volleyball which just gets your wrist to flick more..

  6. you should try setting to a wall

  7. try setting from all around the court. If u really want to be a good setter, then u have to be able to set from anywhere around the court, be accurate, and have a quick release. so start simple then just work ur way up.

  8. One thing they taught us at a UCLA vball camp was (in addition to setting to yourself) set the ball, do a 180, set, 180...etc. I know it sounds stupid, but it helps your brain focus on the location of the ball and where it needs to be even though you are moving. This is pivotal when making saving sets in a game.

  9. We used to lay on our backs with knees bent and set to ourselves.  It really forces you to keep control of the ball.  Try setting a medicine ball to increase the ability to push your set far enough.  While on your knees, have a friend toss a medicine ball to you (start with a light one!) and set it back to them.  Good luck!
