  1. okay at most tryouts you have to run a mile so i suggest running around your block a few times every night just to be prepared

when you are actually running start out jogging at a fast pace but not running, then if you're falling a little bit behind at the end sprint to the end, it wont' make you as tired and you'll still make it under 10 minutes

really that isn't too hard if you think about it ten minutes is a long time so don't let that phyque(?) you out !!!

as for drills i would just practice getting my legs in shape by doing lunges , ssquats, and wall sits

you're lucky at my tryouts( in 2 days) we have to run 3 miles in 30 minutes!!!

  2. just run a mile.

  3. danggg. all you ppl that have to run a mile under 10min. are lucky. we have 1600m in  under 8 min. to run. which, if i would have kept running since track season, and i hadn't gotten injured would be a piece of cake. haha, my fault/not my fault.

  4. This is for your popularity question:

Are you in High School?  If so - then it has a lot to do with popularity.  I am well out of hs and college but, as Homecoming and Prom King of a class of over 500 people, I distinctly remember being attracted to girls who were not "cool" and not hanging out with them for that reason.

Now I realize how ridiculous that mentality was but I can only assume it still exists for those in HS.  Don't get me wrong, I still only date attractive women, but I would be lying if I said I never let a less than attractive woman slip into my life every once in a while.

The great thing is that relationships have to go beyond looks and popularity.  So you may be playing the field now, dating guys purely because you are attracted to them, but over time you will realize that, while important, looks are not the sole criteria for a relationship.  Popularity becomes less and less of an issue as you grow older.  Even in college, the popularity playing field evens out quite a bit.

  5. ok. you can do some of the folloeing drills to help. the first year i played, i couldnt even come close to hitting the ball. now, i got coaches award and 2nd best player 2 years later!!

you need to remember to stretch your legs because you have to change positions a lot.

    so for the volleyblal part:

for hitting/bumping/passing (whatever you call it!):

find an empty wall. throw the ball against the wall and hit it as many times as you can. start out at 20 hitting it back and fourth to the wall. then go up to maybe 35 and try to get 100! it isnt as easy as it sounds!

    serving:

you can try to serve it to the same wall. the point is to make it come back to you. try doing about 10-20 of those in a row.

    setting:

this is proubabky the hardest thing to practice on your own. the only thing you can really do is to st it to yourself about 10 times in a row or make a like on the driveway with chalk and try to set it just over the line.

    spiking:

some people are too short and some teams dont like short people to spike. i dont know how tall you are, but i dont know how to help you with spiking other than to use the line of chalk take a few steps away from it...throw the ball in the air like it had been set to you, and run up and spike it over the line.

    hope this helped! good luck!

  6. U should run at home or at a track 4 about 30 min. to an hour. That will help u get in shape and be prepared 4 that run. After about 3 day of that start to run that mlie in ten mins. If u can not make it keep trying. Make sure to drink lots of water and hydrate urself. NEVER GIVE UP! Try ur best and good luck!
