how do i serve a volleyball?

& bump.

& set.

& spike.

tomorrow is my first day of practice, & i don't know anythingg

  1. im in a volleyball team to,so for serving you got to hit it rigth in front  of you not that in front but that you can see the ball.you have to hit it really hard so the ball will pass.for spike  you do the 3 steps or 2 and you jump and hit the ball really hard but high inouf so it won't stay in the net.and bump you just have to mesure how tuff you are gonna hit it and try to bump it a litle high so your teamate will have time to look for the ball.GOOD LUCK!!!!BYE!!!!


  2. Serve-toss the ball in front of your right shoulder if you are right handed.  Toss the ball without hitting it about 100 times.  Practice your serve starting at the 10 foot line and make 5.  Take one step back and get 5 from there.  Keep doing that until you got back to the service line.

    Passing-get your arms out straight and get your thumbs and the heels of your hand together.  Move your arms very little.  

    Set-get your hands in the shape of a volleyball.  Hold the ball right above your forehead and have someone remove the ball without moving your hands.  That is a good ready position for your hands.  Start by catching the ball and then throwing it.  Catch it and throw it.  Take your time.  After 10, do not hold it so long before you throw it.  Keep repeating until you are setting the ball.  If you have lots of spin or lots of noise, go back to the very slow catch and throw until you stop seeing the spin and the noise.  Follow through.  Your arms should look like "Superman flying."

    Spiking-if you are right handed, you should try the 3 step approach.  Big step with your left, big step with your right and then the small step with your left.  (The small step is called the closure step.  It helps you jump up and not out.)  Practice your approach without the ball.  Do the approach, get back to ready, do the approach and so on for 10 times.  Take one minute off.  Do 10 sets.  Do this about 100 approaches.  

    Take a ball over to the wall.  Hit the ball with your arm extended as high as you can get.  Keep hitting the ball with your arm as high as you can.  If the ball gets too low, catch it and throw it up again.  Do not practice bad technique.
