Volume control is too loud at minimum settings.

Question

Hi

Would a resistor added between the wiper and ground make the lower volume settings lower? If so, what value would be a good starting point?

Otherwise, an attennuator between the wiper and power amp section would reduce the overall volume but, what is the input impedance to the power amp stage to calculate the resistor values?

Or, would the cleanest solution be to reduce the overall gain in the power amp stage somehow?
