Question:

Volume sticking??

My friend has the same model I have and they were purchased together on the same day about 2-3 years ago. She has had problems once under warranty for the same problem and now again, of course, not under warranty anymore. Syntax tells her it would cost $500 to fix it, where she could purchase a new one for that price.

The problem is that when it is turned on, the screen is blue with the VOLUME bar. The volume turns itself all the way down and that is it. You cannot do anything else. I've tried to reset it, tried manually turning it on (without the remote) Thinking it might be the remote, but nothing.

I can try to fix it for her but I have no clue when it comes to TV's. Computers no problem, but I never worked on a TV before. Is it a matter of replacing a part, and if so what do I need?
