In florida, the goverment is now offering free preK to any child that is 4 years old by Sept. 1 2008. My daughter is not old enough yet. Does anyone know if they will be offering this program next year?

  1. I think this is a current trend and I think it will be around for a while.  This is strictly my opinion, but I work with a similar program in PA and we have had outstanding results so far, so I am anticipating that these kinds of programs will be around for a while.

  2. Most probably because as previously was answered...preK is the current trend...it DOES benefit children.

However, it depends if there is enough state funds to continue it.  As we know the government's funds tend to be cut for this reason and that.

Also, will depend from area to area.  Most of these programs are "grant programs" and those in charge has to prove certain requirements as they "write" the grants.

  3. Yes they will. I live in florida and work in a preschool w/ VPK. Typically schools will keep with VPK. (I know we are) I have even seen more and more schools with VPK signs in front. So don't worry you will be able to do it next year
