Volunteer Africa?

Question

I'm looking for an opportunity for service in Africa for the summer of '09 that doesn't cost thousands of dollars. If anyone has any ideas of something to the Peace Corps but for a shorter period of time (ideally 3 months) I would greatly appreciate it.

There is a book out there called Volunteer Vacations by Bill McMillon, Doug Cutchins, and Anne Geissinger.  It is a great resource and includes both long and short term volunteer stints all over the world.
