Volunteer Opportunities for Teens in San Diego County, CA???

Question

I am almost 14 years old and in 8th Grade. I was wondering if anybody knew of volunteer or community service opportunities that are:

>Teen Friendly

>has Flexible hours

> where i can work a couple times per week

>helps animals or people (disaster relief, making meals, etc.)

>involves working with kids (a possibility)

>in San Diego County (Oceanside, Escondido, San Marcos) CA

>involved work that I can actually do

>work that i can add to my community service hours

If anybody knows anything, please tell me.

There's also this government sponsored site, http://volunteer.gov/gov/ which provides volunteer positions through USA federal land agencies like Fish & Wildlife, Forest Service, National Parks, etc.

Prepare to make a lot of phone calls and do a lot of legwork in order to find an opportunity that meets all of your needs.
