Volunteer at Homeless Shelter, For 7 year old?

I live in KY w/ my 7 year old. She is great, not spoiled, but acts like she is. I was poor, now middle class. I want to volunteer in a homeless shelter at Thanksgiving and have her help out too. I am an hour from Nashville, two from Louisville, have family in Chicago (would like to go there). Any help of who to contact would be great.

in nashville there is the homeless shelter called the rescue mission. it is at 639 lafayette, nashville tn.

the reason that i know that is that i used to stay there when i was homeless there. i am sure that they would allow your seven year old to volunteer alon with you - it would be a great experience for her to learn from.

Contact churches in that area and contact the Harvest organization - they are all throughout the U.S. and do their best work for homeless around Thanksgiving.
