  1. Hi, i'm a nurse and you can certainly work for charities in the uk as a qualified nurse....but your question implies that maybe you're looking for work experience and aren't actually a qualified nurse?...in which case you should contact an area you would like to work in and ask if they would allow you to undertake work experience with them. I work with children who have emotional and psychological issues and we have up to three volunteers at a time.

A good place to start is www.do-it.org.uk a great website with area searches and areas of interest. They have list of volunteering with lots of childrens charities!

Good luck with your volunteering, it a wonderfully rewarding thing to do and if you are looking to become a nurse, good for you, i love it!

  2. There's no such thing as volunteer nursing, you can be a tea lady, but that's about it.  Nursing is a clinical profession.

If you want to look for volunteer work, google it.

  3. Im not aware of any voluntary nursing positions in the U.K. but you dont mention if you are qualified or not. Have you thought of Auxiliary nursing? It may help you decide if this is the correct path for you.

  4. Somebody in the forum from the following site might be able to help you. It's run by nurses, I find it a real help for many different issues.

There are volunteer placements for nursing in this country & abroad but you do need to be qualified.
