Volunteer work that pays?

I know it sounds weird but last summer i did some volunteer work for a green company and they paid some cash even though it was volunteer work! It wasnt that much! I wanted to know if anybody knew where i can get the same kind of job in montreal!!

Please give me ideas! Thx

  1. truthfully they shouldn't have paid you and most companies will not pay you if your volunteering its usually one or the other but if you can find one good luck.


  2. Volunteer work means that you do work for free.

  3. You may want to check out Americorps www.americorps.gov. Although most positions require 10 months of service you may be able to find a position for just the summer. You can also check out www.volunteermatch.org and type in "paid" or "internship" in the advanced keyword search. Another great resource is www.idealist.org. Good luck, and don't give up.

  4. Volunteer means for free out of the kindness of your heart (or maybe because you got in trouble with the law) So, if you really thought you were volunteering you shouldn't have taken the money. What you had was a job.
