  1. good idea

  2. Yea, I once volunteered at my local Food Bank and found it very rewarding. Go for it!  : )

  3. Either one would prove rewarding.  You should give both a try and see which you like better.  I work at and donate to a local food pantry every week and I love it.  We help so many people in the community and I find that very gratifying.

Good luck and have fun volunteering!

  4. yes, you are providing people with the most essential necessity in life. Bless ur heart for helping to make a difference.

  5. I volunteered at a local food bank and I found it to be somewhat satisfying. Working with people closely, like you would in a hospital, is an excellent way to shine the light inside you. If you have good conversation skills and enjoy seeing a face light up when you talk to them, you've got to get involved more directly than a food bank. If you have a gift for putting people at ease, I would strongly consider the hospital option.

I've been a gymanstics coach for several years and almost exclusively as a volunteer.  The amount of joy I received from that was immeasurable...seriously, I would leave the gym feeling like I had just been hooked up to some kind of cosmic current that made me feel incredibly empowered.

Please don't get me wrong...there are benefits to working in a food bank that you won't at the hospital and it is a very admirable way of helping others less fortunate.

Whatever you do, don't stop shining that light.
