Volunteering at hospitals? Good? ?

Many people have told me that volunteering at hospitals doesn't look that great to colleges. Is that true?

No it's not true. It looks more than great. It's super super super super great. Especially if you want to go to a religious college or major  something in the medical field.  If you want to major in the medical field, it shows college that you are interested in the field, caring, able to maintain school + volunteer, etc... Basically it helps colleges to define the type of person you are.

Ditto the guy above me. If you are planning on going into medicine or nursing, etc. it will be an unbelievably smart move. After school, it looks great on a resume.
