Volunteering for a 15 year old?

I've tried volunteering for hours my freshmen year (07-08) and this summer, but I've largely come up unsuccessful. I've tried using volunteermatch.org, but most of the results come up with a minimum age limit of 16 or 18. Any other websites or suggestions for places to volunteer?

If you're not having luck with sites like volunteermatch.com, I'd find some charities you'd be interested in helping and contact them directly.  At 15 I volunteered at a hospital (helped sort and deliver patient mail) and I also volunteered at a nursing home visiting residents.

To find a best match, think about the kinds of things you like to do (work with kids, music and the performing arts, elderly, outside projects, sports) and find a charity that works in those areas.
