Volunteering grants??

Question

Does anyone know if there is such thing as Volunteering grants? I'm currently working out to get the money together I need for 6 months volunteering work in Bolivia. I was wondering if people knew of any form or grant/aid that I could try to get to help cover the costs... etc

I honestly don't think there is such a thing. That's why it is called volunteering! That said, I hope you are not registering with one of these outfits where you actually have to pay to volunteer ie raise cash to subsidise it. These are commercial operations which play on peoples desire to do good.

You are best looking at VSO or UN which will pay your basic costs. Or try the BOND website for a list of bona fide volunteer organisations.
