Volunteering help?

Hi! I'm 14 and wanted to know some good ideas on where to volunteer. I'm considering going to a local retirement home already. Do you know if 14 year olds can go to the SPCA ? Because I read you have to be 16? Thanks for answering!

Usually you do have to be 16 yrs old, however on certain larger projects a nonprofit may have a volunteer day when families are welcome and you would be able to volunteer them.

Check out voluntermatch.org to see local opporuntities and get an idea of organizations you can contact.  I'm sure that they want your help, you just ned a way to make it work.  Also, look for organizations that have a Youth Board.  It means they are already in the mindset of working with high school students.
