Volunteering in Argentina?

A friend and I are planning on taking our senior trip to Buenos Aires, Argentina. We would like to to do volunteer work there, however we will not be going through an 'organized' group so we must therefore find a reputable place to volunteer at ourselves.

If anybody who has lived, worked, or visited Buenos Aires and knows of a good place to volunteer, that would be fantastic! In a perfect world we would like to work with kids, but any type of volunteer work is good.

i cannot say off hand, but you should be with an organized group such as a religiousand/or medical organization in case you run into trouble. i would consult the us state department and the Argentine embassy
