Volunteering in a hospital?

I want to volunteer in South Africa (Gauteng) somewhere in a hospital. Anyone know where I can do this, or just maybe how I would go about it?

Are you in South Africa now? If so, give the hospitals in your city a call and see if they involve volunteers.

If you aren't in South Africa, you will need to be prepared to pay your way there and for all accommodations to live there -- no hospital is going to pay for you to volunteer at their site unless you are a doctor or nurse. You should still contact the hospitals directly before you arrive, to make sure they would involve you -- since you are not from South Africa, they may not be able to involve you as an independent foreign volunteer.
