Volunteering in the Spfld, IL area?

Me and some of my friends dont really have a lot to do this summer, and we figured it would be a great idea to volunteer places, but we dont know how to look or find out places we can. Please dont say a church, because none of us are very church going people. We're all 14, so any site or something would be muchos appriciated.

Along with those 2 sites, look up local food panties and food kitchens.  They are always looking for volunteers.  Contact your local park service and see if they've got anything for you to do.  One more place:  public libraries.  Sometimes they enjoy the extra help.

If any of these places don't have opportunities, ask them if they know where there might be something.  Summertime is a great time to get involved.  Plus it looks really good down the road when you've done something like this to help people.
