Volunteering in the US?

Hey, Im 17 years old. Im looking for a program to volunteer anywhere in the US through. I would like to spend a week or so during the year somewhere. Does anyone know any good, legit programs that have volunteer projects in the US? (not abroad, please.)

I found two, Landmark Volunteers and Americorps. Landmark you have to pay, Americorps pays you. However, I'm not positive if they take 17 year olds. You may have to wait until 18 to join Americorps.
