My husband and I are from germany and now will stay in chennai for the next 2 till 4 years. He has to work for ICF.

Nearby I'm searching for a non- profit volunteering, I would like to help children.

There are hundreds of so called NGO,s all over India. Very unfortunately, most of them are, only interested in Foreign funds and are only Letter head Organisations. Hence, you have to be very careful before getting involved.

Even if you find a good non profit Organisation, you may find it very difficult to adjust to its way of work.

Presently the German Government and plenty of German Charity groups are funding various Organisations in India. They are forced to relay on the report submitted to them, without cross verifying the monetary flow and utilization's. Hence I honestly request you to approach your Embassy and the fund providers in Germany. Get the full particulars and enter a genuine one. WWF is also a good choice, along with World Environment Monitory Group. You can also contact UNESCO. My real concern is your honest intention of serving the people, should not be end in failure.
