  1. In most cases the organization sets the age limit for volunteers. I am a volunteer coordinator and require volunteers under the age of 13 to have a parent or guardian with them. Ask at the vet's office what their requirements are.

  2. Age is not a bar to volunteering. what all you need is the spirit  of service which demands some  amount of sacrifice.Mother Theresa is an example and source of inspiration.I had a risky experience. When I was beginning to learn swimming,I found a man drowning in the rising river,I plunged in to the river to save him,in panic he hugged me tightly , with will power and God's help some how I managed to pull him to the safe shore. That was a great thrill.

  3. I tried to volunteer at an animal shelter and at a vet's office....but where I live (in California) you have to be at least 18 years old. I don't know why they won't accept younger volunteers, but that is their policy. Have you tried asking the people in charge of the place you want to volunteer at?? That is probably the only way you could get straight answer. :) :) :)

  4. 17 years old is legal enough...
