The driving and indicator lights are working, but not break lights. Not even the middle break light. What could cause this?

  1. I would first check the fuse box, then I would proceed to the back with a voltmeter and check the sockets for voltage. Also make sure the sockets are clean. Too, the center break light runs through the tailgate hinge, check those wires. If this still doesn't work, try tracing the wire through the car and exposing them every so often to test the  voltage. I had license plate lights go out on my 1984 240 sedan, and I just re-ran wires. Be an engineer!!!

  2. cause .... hmmmm

    its a 1984 volvo.

  3. probably the fuse or the brake light switch (under the pedal)
