Volvo Auto Repair. Have new 2007 S60 Volvo Have major suspension squeak on passenger side.

Have new 2007 S60 Volvo Have major suspension squeak on passenger side. Dealer say I have rock lodged in cover plate on top of shock.
How can I take tension off shock to remove stone?
