Volvo s40 stalls when cold ?

hi all i have a volvo s40 v reg (year 2000)ok when i start it in morning from cold it stalls strate away??? it will do this until it warms up so i have to put the revs on for a bit then its fine the rest of the day tic over no problem

ok i done up to now idle air control as volvo told me it was but never solved the problem at £134

ok any one any one tell me what i can try next cheers for any help

  1. well first thing i thought was that it was the IAC but since you say that has already been replaced. one thing i would do which is farely cheap is to run some TB/Carb cleaner through the intake. if the problem still persists it could be a bad engine temp censor. a dealership would have to test this. often times vehicle will have 2 engine temp censors. 1 for you 1 for the computer. if the one for the computer is malfunctioning the computer may not realize that the engine is still in the warmup cycle and isnt compensating justly with fuel, timing, or both
