Vonage V-Phone?

It isn't working. I pop it in and a screen telling me to wait pops up but then disappears and nothing happens. The program is running, but the keypad doesn't show up. This is the second device I have (exchanged for the first, which did the exact same thing).

  1. Are you using Windows VISTA?

If so, Vonage acknowledges that there is a compatibility problem with VISTA and the V-Phone.

V-Phone need to run in Windows-XP Compatibility Mode.

Here is the "work-around" when using Vista:

Also, make sure your Firewall is not blocking V-Phone.

  2. This product works very well--but not with existing headset. Get a good headset and it makes an incredible difference. I go back and forth between my Vonage home phone and the jump drive all the time and only pay for one line. The trick is to 'toggle'and use only one line at a time. After you log into your vonage.com account and install the new device, go to 'Add-ons' and then 'Move a Number.' I have been using this product for several months and it has worked in the US and abroad quite frequently.Vonage would like for you to think that you must have two numbers, but it is not necessary.

We wanted to get the V-Phone to use on vacations using our laptop, but found out after purchasing it, that we have to buy an additonal number to use the Vonage V-Phone.

So unless you are using your laptop for your main account instead of your PC, the V-Phone will cost you a monthly fee.
