Vote: is Al Gore the biggest hypocrite of the last 100 years?

The bloviating Al Gore has commanded us from a high to reduce energy usage by cutting back on our lifestyle. Yet, the rather big headed Al lives like a king. But do not fear, he buys carbon off sets, so he is aces. Or is he? He is actually buying the carbon offsets from a company he owns. Seems to me Big Als' lectures to others should be considered advertising for his own company. I elect big AL Gore as the "Hypocrite of the Century" (aka: the Big Bull Cr%* Award)

  1. This whole question is just a diversion to keep people from considering the real question, which is global warming and environmental destruction and what to do about it.

The earth is in critical condition even without global warming.  Any idiot can see this. If not, are you smarter than a fifth grader?  I fear not, because they get it right away.  It's only adults with their heads full of c**p who don't get it.

  2. i agree

  3. Prove Al Gore is a liar and I will agree with you. Bringing awareness of AGW to the world and winning a Nobel Prize for his efforts can hardly be considered as hypocritical.

  4. I agree - he is a hypocrite, and is now richer because of it.

  5. Al Gore is a Hypocrite and a complete idiot.

  6. If you stop to think about it long enough you might realize that Al is setting an example for how lifestyles in developed countries do not necessarily have to be without power or amenities simply because some conservative blog said that's what responding to global warming will do to us.  That's good news.

The blogs that slam Al are simply playing upon people's willingness to dislike people richer than themselves.  I didn't like many of the self-serving undertones in his movie, but Al can double the size of his lifestyle for all I care.  It's an example of how I can do the same.

Words like "hypocrite" are great for propagandists... dealing with personal behavior, leading people away from the topic of climate change.  If you can't dispute the message, attack the messenger.

  7. Al Gore has complicit liars in the media more then willing to grow this myth. General Electric parent company of NBC has a vested interest in the mythos.

Always keep in mind the idea that if you tell a lie often enough, loud enough, and long enough, the myth becomes accepted as a fact. Repetition, volume and longevity will twist and turn a myth - a lie into a commonly accepted way of doing things

  8. FYI--you should check ot the facts instead of right-wing propaganda sights. Al Gore has a nice big house--powered by SOLAR ENERGY.

And Gore has NOT suggested that anyone cut back on their lifestyile--that is an outright lie by the extremists. What he has said is that people shuld use energy efficiently--not that they shouldn't use it.  Which--for your information--also means helping to find ways to SAVE MONEY on energy costs--money that can then be sued for other  things--IMPROVING THEIR LIFESTYLE.

No one except the neocons are going to defend their agenda--it amounnts to ripping off the average American (as well as hurting the environment) just to keep the neocon idols like oil cmany CEOs well supplied with caviar and hookers.

  9. I have to say, CrazyCon, I was just going to suggest just putting him in the top ten until I read your convincing argument. Now I'm with you. biggest hypocrite, absolutely.

  10. YES

  11. None of which makes him wrong about global warming....

  12. I agree entirely. He's papa pinochio running a world full of little pinochios, ya know.

  13. Yes but not because he "buys" carbon credits from himself or anyone else.. or that he does it to make a profit, for himself, etc.  But because he "buys" carbon credits to justify his extravagant lifestyle and to make himself look good.

I believe his actions are unethical!!

There is absolutely no excuse for living a wasteful lifestyle just because you can afford it . . . Think of how much good he could do it he BOTH reduced his wasteful lifestyle AND bought the carbon credits with the $$ he has extra

  14. With slickwillie and his wife The Carpetbagger alive and well, Al Gore has no more chance of winning that title than the Man in the Moon.

    Doc

  15. No, there are a number of bigger hypocrites out there.  Edward Kennedy probably has a lock on the title though.

  16. He is the most prominent one with a Nobel prize.

  17. He is way down the list as you would have to put Bush and all his cronies and the fools that voted for the man that has destroyed our country. You think you can take a fact from here and there to fit your belief. It is very said that you do not want to look at the truth and think. When you look for the truth not just the facts that point out your beliefs, you sometime have to change your belief or do you still think the world is flat. It is not what we do not know that will hurt us, but the belief in something that is not true that will kill us. Check wikipedia to see what it says about buying carbon offsets, even if he does own or partly own the company that he is buy them from, it implys that the company is doing good if it has carbon offsets to sell. Did anyone question bush about his oil conections and the profit they are making now.

  18. sure whatever, and Bush is the most honest, trustworthy, caring person this country has ever seen.

Have any of you idiots even seen Gores house? or do you just go by what the most corrupt oil exec tells you. he could be living off 100% clean energy.

yeah bring on the negative feedback. I actually care! I'm a whackjob liberal treehugger!
