Voter Registration??

Question

This may sound like a weird question, but is it possible to cancel my voter registration and re-register? Or at least change whatever political party I may have put down? I'm 24 now, and my views have changed since I was 18....

I don't see why you couldn't. Just go to the place where you registered to vote, and talk to them. You should be able to go to the BMV to re-register to vote. Tell them your political veiws have changed.

Depending on the state you live in, the procedure for doing this will vary.  Some states will have you re-register, while others allow you to change your party affiliation without re-registering.  Either way, it should not be difficult to do, but there is a time limit after which you cannot change your affiliation before the next election.  

How you are registered affects, in some states at least, which candidates you can vote for in the primary elections (Republicans for their choice among the Republican candidates, Democrats for Democrats), or even if you get to vote in the primary elections.  Your affiliation, however, should not affect your ability to vote in the general elections.

You can always amend your party, but just because you've changed parties doesn't mean you couldn't always vote either party.  You are not restricted to voting for the party you registered for when you go to vote.  Either you haven't been voting or you're not paying attention to that.

Yes you can.  Just reregister.  One correction.  Crossing over and voting for someone in another party.  Somes states parties allow it, some don't.  In California, you can cross over but the vote does not count for the delegates, but only for the beauty contest part.

Sure, you can update it.  There are timelines for it, but since we're not in the primary season you're probably ok...truck on down there and do it.

Yes you can.    However when you vote, you do not have to stick with any party.  Whoever you feel will do the best job.
