Just 24,463 people were in the stands at the MCG as Australia played the West Indies on Sunday. Are the crowds voting with their feet and saying One-Day Internationals no longer hold their interest? If so, does this spell the slow death of the format?

Cricket authorities are doing their best to tinker with the 50-over format to keep it entertaining in the wake of the Twenty20 onslaught but for what might be series mismatches like this one (and in the wake of an Australia series whitewash over Pakistan), it could be a hard sell.
