Vounteering places in des plaines?

what are some volunteering places in des plaines illinois...me and a couple of friends wanted to volunteer at like a senior center or like a kid care place.. we tried volunteering at holy family medical center and also at luthern general hospital but their not taking volunteers this summer... soo please HELP ME!!
