Vs the ref paid off in the kimbo vs thompson fight?

let me start by saying I THOUGHT SLICE COULD HIT HARD!!! thompson has one of the weakest jaws in the game ans slice couldnt KO him. next in round 2 kimbo hits him rocks him and thompson grabs him takes him down with ease and pounds him the rest of the round. thompson was not in any trouble and the ref stopped the fight. FIX. the announcers would not even admit thomson was ahead in the fight they dodged the question. XC knows thompson does not have the draw that slice has. its very sad.

on a side note I do have a greater respect for slice now. at the end of the fight he knew the ref saved him. he hugged thompson and admited he had " alot to learn". slice is being used by XC they are setting him up to get hurt. part of me feels sorry for kimbo.

im not a huge slice fan.. but did you not see thompsons ear explode... i dont think the fight was stopped prematurely.. i think you need to see a replay..

I fight was certainly stopped much to fast. Although Thompsons ear was wrecked, the blood was not doing damadge and the fight should have carried on.

I do think though Kimbo was about to knock him out. Watch the third round again and you shall see that Thompson was losing his legs

Thompson is pretty much known for getting knocked out, and Slice is supposed to be a devastating puncher never really put Thompson in any kind of danger...ya he rocked him a little but he was never in any serious trouble...the fight was fixed!

In any other organization they would have stopped the fight in the 2nd when Slice was just laying there taking elbows to the dome for the last minute of the round.

Slice and Thompson are both cans!

The stoppage was legitimate. Slice is no pro boxer, but he is a heavyweight and he can throw a fair punch. Once someone takes a few shots like that, the ref has to decide quickly whether the fighter is out on his feet and might be a candidate for a brain bleed. Boxing has deaths because fighters sometimes take a lots of head shots and the cumulative effect is not obvious.

Its only entertainment, and the fighters are dumb enough to keep going, so it is up to the ref to make sure the fans get their blood but the fighters can live to fight again.

That is a big responsibility for the ref and for this entertainment venue. It is not about winning or losing, it is about entertaining and then living to do it again next time, while still having enough brain cells left to hug your kids.

If it were about winning, they would really fight no holds barred and go until someone could not continue. There would be no stoppages or rounds either.

Think about it, its just entertainment. Your insight is there when you feel sorry for Kimbo. We should all feel sorry for all these guys, they are just pawns for a business.
