on friday afternoon the vulcan bomber flew past my house, i didnt take much notice because living in lincolnshire its something you get used to but.. a few minutes later i heard a huge roar & stepped outside to see it again this time it was really lo& directly above me at about 2/300 ft, i could see so much detail but the the thing that stands out is that i could see its camoflague (dpm), now as far as i am aware it only has this on the top!! which would mean it was flying upside down!!! i find it hard to believe it was as it is such a large aircraft, can someone clear this up for me as, does it have camo on the bottom or did the pilot flip it over on the way to waddington or was i halucinating

im confused

  1. It is highly unlikely a Vulcan could fly upside down at that altitude.

You saw the only remaining air worthy example of a Vulcan.  It has been renovated by volunteers.  They were decommisioned in the eighties and last saw action when they were used to bomb Stanley Airport during the Falklands war.

I saw one break through low cloud at Yeovil Air Station just after they returned.  Impressive sight!...Isn't it?

  2. In service yes it did have disruptive camo on the upper and "sky blue" under - however as it has recently been renovated there is every likelihood it was DP`d underside too.

It is ,as said earlier ,unlikely that it was flying upside down especially that low as even many of the experienced pilots wouldn`t attempt it.

  3. The Vulcan that is currently flying has wrap around camo.
