Vulvodynia?

Question

Just a curious question. One day when Im ready to get pregnant.... how do i go about doing that since im on 20mg anti- depressant for vulvodynia? The anti depressants help treat the pain. Being on anti depressants are not good while being pregnant because of birth defects... so my question is.... is there any other medication for vulvodynia while pregnant?

And also say if I was pregnant and didnt know yet (which im not)... and im still on my anti depressants how do I stop taking my medication right away if you have to ween off of the drugs? I heard if you dont ween off of anti depressants it can cause brain damage or something.

All of these questions are just curiosty for when i am ready. Thanks!

I find it interesting that medicine has not discovered what chiropractic has -- that many of these so-called "unexplainable" pain syndromes can be relieved tremendously by simply taking the pressure off the nerve(s) that is causing the pain. In the case of vulvodynia, pressure can be located in the sacral plexus. If you want to try getting off the antidepressants because you would like to one day be pregnant, and I assume healthy, I would give chiropractic care a try.

To get a healthy child, You will have to stop taking any kind of medication related to anti-depressants. Even other medications may harm a child. It's better not to take any medication while pregnant or even preparing to be pregnant.
