The defensive midfielder was all praise for his side as they stuck together and performed consistently to defend their title despite off-field rows at board level.

The 23-year-old, who started his professional career at Amsterdam Arena in the 2005/06 season, was very vocal about the role played by substitutes this term after many of the key players were sidelined due to injuries.
“The great thing about this title is that we achieved it as a team. We had so many injuries this season, which just emphasizes more that we all did it together. The substitute players made an important contribution”, Anita was quoted as saying to the club’s
official website.
The Dutch International, who has thus far represented De Joden in 103 matches, failed to feature regularly in his first three seasons at Amsterdam Arena, only making two appearances. However, the 23-year-old worked extremely hard to enhance his skills and
has been one of the most influential midfielders in the Amsterdammers’ squad since the 2008/09 season.
“The season started a bit poorly for me. I ended up on the bench at a certain point, but I kept fighting. When I finally got my spot at midfield, things kept getting better for me and for the team also”, Anita added.
The 23-year-old, who has now won two Eredivisie titles with Ajax, went on to admit that both titles are very special to him.
“This is my second championship, so both championships are among my greatest memories. Matches for a trophy are always special”, Anita concluded.
The defensive midfielder has an ongoing contract with Ajax that runs until the summer of 2014. Reports indicate that several European clubs are keeping tabs on the 23-year-old, but the Dutchman has made it clear that he does not intend to move abroad at
this point of his career and wants to win more silverware with De Joden.
