Vw beetle epc light on ?

My 2003 turbo beetle is constantly having the epc light come on. When this happens it won't let me even change it to any gear. It won't move from park. It's only been happening since today. I've had the car for 5 months. Just got the oil changed and I pump premium gas since it's turbo. Can anyone tell me what could be wrong with it?

I have a 2002 Superbeetle. The EPC light and check engine light came on, but would go off. It was on and off. The car did lose power but kept on running. I read on this site what someone did to resolve their problem. So I did what they recommended by calling a VW dealer. Gave them my VIN number and sure enough was under recall for the the brake switch. They replaced it at no charge and my problem has gone away. Dealer said something about a relay in the switch that caused the vehicle computer to trip the EPC light and loss of power. Hope my experience helps you.
