Vyacheslav Sinkevich captures Men’s 200m breaststroke gold – European SC Swimming Championships
Vyacheslav Sinkevich of Russia captured gold medal of the Men’s 200m breaststroke on fourth day of the 2012 European Short Course Swimming Championships in Chartres, France on Sunday, November 25.
The Russian veteran showed no mercy to his opponents in the distant breaststroke discipline and went full rampant from the start to pocket the crown.
With his undisputed effort in the event, Sinkevich stayed prominently ahead of his opponents and stepped on the finishing end for gold medal by producing a time of 2 minutes and 04.55 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Igor Borysik of Ukraine, who stayed 0.57 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and touched the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 05.12 seconds.
The second position holder was followed by Andriy Kovalenko of Ukraine, who was 0.09 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and touched the wall for bronze medal by submitting an effort of 2 minutes and 05.21 seconds.
Kovalenko was trailed by Giacomo Peres Dortona of France, who stayed 0.14 seconds apart and transpired on the finishing end for fourth position by reporting a time of 2 minutes and 05.35 seconds.
Dortona was followed by Carlos Esteves Almeida, who remained 0.24 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and surfaced on the wall as fifth position holder by clocking an effort of 2 minutes and 05.59 seconds.
Sixth spot of the race was obtained by Craig H Benson of Great Britain, who stayed 1.43 seconds slower and concluded his race with the timing of 2 minutes and 07.02 seconds.
Seventh position of the race was obtained by Nejc Zupan of Slovenia, who suffered a loss of 0.13 seconds from his foregoing finisher and tapped the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 07.15 seconds.
Zupan was traced by David Verraszto of Hungary, who remained 0.96 seconds slower and concluded his race in eighth place by reporting a time of 2 minutes and 08.11 seconds.
Furthermore, Sinkevich received a huge round of applause from the audience for his notable efforts in the breaststroke discipline and collected medal and accolades after the race.
