WABC 770am HD radio reception in Connecticut?

Does anyone who lives in or near New Haven have HD radio and get good reception of WABC 770 AM?? I am thinking of buying an HD radio for this purpose but don't know if it will come it well.

  1. I live in New York City and there are some stations in HD that I have a hard time pulling in!  And I'm a lot closer than New Haven.

    The signal is much weaker than standard AM.  You'd probably have a better chance of pulling in WEBE108 than WABC.  But to check to see, you should go to your local Radio Shack and try tuning into WABC HD-2 from there.  THOUGH, standard WABC does travel rather far so you may not necessarily need an HD radio if it is solely about trying to pull that station in.


  2. not likely.  the HD signal has a smaller coverage area than traditional analog.  go to www.radio-locator.com and you can look at coverage patterns for radio stations. some are now including hd coverage.
