Looking for input on trying to make up the best teams in history, by puting together the best of East Perth and West Perth, and also East Fremantle and South Fremantle who would play off in an imaginary game. EP and WP were bitter rivals as was EF and SF, but who would you pick in these combined clubs and what would we call the 2 teams. Would it be Perth V Fremantle, I know there is a Perth team but for this excersise what could they be called.

  1. EP are called the Royals

WP the Cardinals - now Joondalup Falcons

EF Old East - now The Sharks

South Fremantle are known as the Bulldogs.

Many old fans would hate to hear the two teams called Perth & Fremantle - mainly because, as you've said, there is a team named Perth in the comp.

They all had some rather derogatory names but best not to list them here as someone would get upset!

Probably sounds stupid but something along the lines of The East Perth falcons -vs- the Fremantle Sharks .....or some other concoction of those names.

best of luck. I will be very interested as to what names & players you finally come up with.

  2. Asterix.

Hey, Brown & Alexander both started their careers at East Perth - can't have them captaining the opposition. It would be like the E/W Perth team pinching Jack Sheedy as coach!

Barry Cable was a Perth player & only went to East Perth after he returned from North Melbourne.

Gotta be genuine  original players - otherwise I'll sap 'em!

  3. WAFL History.

Molly, it's East & West Perth - not Perth!! Robert Wiley was a Perth player & never played for the other two clubs.

Maybe Stephen Michael for Freo but I'd want Mal Atwell as my captain & minder for the E & W Perth team!

  4. imput

    why bother

  5. Steven Micheal could Capt Fremantle and Robert Wiley Perth

  6. i dont know but they would give collingwood a run for their money

  7. How 'bout the "Royal Falcons"  vs  the "Bullsharks"?   I know.   That was pretty lame.   However,  I reckon either Barry Cable or Graham "Polly" Farmer should be the captain of the Perth side.  And how bout either Mal Brown or Ron Alexander as the Freo Captain?

  8. Excellent page on wikipedia about the WAFL.
