WALMART CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS ARRESTS VS. CONVICTIONS

Does anyone that works for Walmart know what they look for in their Criminal Background Checks? I have one arrest for a minor misdeamnor and the charge is pending, there HAS BEEN NO CONVICTION. The form I filled out at Walmart asked if I had ever been CONVICTED, it didn't ask if I had arrested or charged. So does anyone know if they just look at convictions? Any help???

  1. With a criminal background check an employer is looking for things that might indicate the person would not be a suitable employee.  For example, if your charge was for shoplifting, Walmart might not look at you as a  person they want to hire.  They want to know if they are taking a risk in hiring you, either a risk for their business in general, or a risk for other employees and customers.  So what they think of yours will depend on what the charge is for.  If it is for something that would in no way impact your work in the job you have applied for, it  may not make any difference at all.

  2. no an arrest is not a conviction, as you are not convicted nothing will show up... if they ask you about a pending conviction, that's another matter.

  3. well you answered the question honestly whats the worst that could happen, you don't get to work at walmart
