In recorded history there appears to be no period of complete peace on the Earth. This is real sad.

  1. actually yes, i remember a teacher told us last year in school that ever since ww2, there have been 2 days of peace, or something like that

  2. It's man's way of figuring out their problems the hard way and if you really think about it if we didn't have war people would over populate the world but you didn't hear that from me.

  3. It's not sad.  War has it's benefits like anything else.  It challenges and defines us.

  4. Before man appeared on the scene, for one thing, ant colonies fought territorial battles to the death, so I guess I would have to go with the ice age as already mentioned, and also before animals developed lungs and were restricted to the sea

  5. In recorded history there is TODAY less war then ever before

  6. PAX Romana.

  7. Theres like 5 year gaps

but aslong as there are diagreaments there always will be wars

  8. During the ice age, there were no wars. The whole planet was frozen solid.

  9. We know that "The Battle of Megiddo"was the first battle to have been recorded in history. The date is April 16, 1457 BC.

    - The Hebrew words Har Megido (הר מגידו), means "Mountain of Megiddo". So the site of the first battle in history gives its name to the last battle in history (Armegeddon).

  10. Its not we as the ordinary people that cause these wars though its the idiots in charge of government that feel the need to start wars its been like that forever. The idiots in charge are the ones to blame. There is still many countrys that have never been involved in any wars this is due to them having a good government

  11. I doubt it. Probably when people were spread more thinly and populations were more sparse.

A lot of wars in history are wars of conquest, which we would frown upon today, but even now a war is occasionally necessary to settle disputes where diplomacy can't.

  12. Don't know. But I know we don't like Wars (Israeli people). Muslims attacked us. We only defend our land.

  13. I think not. It is human nature to kill his own kind and take things

  14. I remember my brother asking me a similar question when he was about 8 or 9 years old.

The answer then is the same as it is now:  no.

It seems that we human beings are just hard wired to be aggressive, and always seem to think that someone else has something that we  want and, if they won't hand it over voluntarily, things get violent.

This is true of nations and individuals.

The closest thing I can think of as a period of comparative peace was the Pax Romana, which lasted about 300 years.  Even then it was only relatively peaceful, because there were rebellions within the empire and fighting in other parts of the world as well.
