  1. Atheist.  Big time.

Believe it or not, McCartney has always been very religious.  The members of the Beatles did not get along very well at ALL.  But I suppose it was enough to make some outstanding music.  =]

  2. He did dapple with Buddhism for a short while.  Many Buddhists are atheists.

  3. God is a concept

    By which we measure

    Our pain

    I'll say it again

    I don't believe in magic

    I don't believe in I-ching

    The dream is over

    What can I say?

    The dream is over

    And so dear friends

You'll just have to carry on

  4. It would seem that at this time, Lennon was actually open and could be reached. We see he had an open mind.

Unfortunately, often times people will judge Christianity-and God-by how we as Christians are.

I suspect Lennon simply closed off and went to humanism, BUT we cannot know if in his last day or minutes of life, he did not call out for the Lord. We cannot say how his heart was, how his standing with God was, before he passed away.

Denominational membership matters little. Knowing Christ, THIS is what is important.

And just like that one thief hanging on the cross next to Jesus, it may be in his last minutes he found out who Jesus really is.

  5. Mainly he was a pacifist during the Vietnam war. Rent the DVD "US vs John Lennon" some time to better understand the details.

All he was saying, was give peace a chance.
