okay sooooo....I just noticed that we have a wasp nest of about 40 wasps on our deck...we live on the third floor of an apartment building and have already had about 3 wasps come inside before I actually found the nest...I knew there had to be one out there for the amount of wasps Ive seen lately...I have NO idea how to get rid of it because there is no escape route and I dont want them to get inside! I dont have the money for an exterminator! suggestions PLEASE! im pretty desperate considering wasps FREAK me out and my boyfriend wants to get rid of the nest ASAP!

  1. apartment? the landlord should take care of it.

  2. state chemical co., sells a product called Zero.works well, kills on contact, sprays 12 feet, kills long after sprayed. used one can to kill all the bees from a huge nest then removed the nest.

  3. Home Depot sells Ortho wasp and hornet spray that will reach out twenty feet or so and will knock them dead. That is the only way to go.

  4. Spectracide makes Hot Shot. shoots a 20 foot jet.  Spray empty nest later with powerful water or scrape it off.

  5. You can buy a can of wasp killer that spray a super long distance, also spray it at night when they are sleeping. Less chance of them charging at you

  6. go yo the store and get repellent and of course cream in case you get stunned

  7. Whenever I get wasp nests outside my house, I simply take a normal plastic grocery store bag and quickly wrap it up and dump it.

But since you are so afraid of wasps, why not just use a stick to poke and push it off your deck? But first, use some smoke to calm them down.

To avoid further wasp nests, buy one of those decoy nests found at hardware stores. Since wasps are territorial, it will trick them into thinking that a swarm has already claimed the area.

  8. hose it off if you don't wanna spend money, but make sure you can reach it, this is what me and my friend did. if you have something to put on the end of the hose to make it spray further, even better.

  9. smoke usually scares them

  10. ive heard gas kills them, if you could find a way to get gas on the nest, that might kill them.  call the landlord tho, tell him/her that you are allergic, and they will have to get rid of them. lol

  11. well, i reccomend the exterminator, but since you insist not to....

Dress in long sleeves and in layers and wear a haloween mask or somthing that will protect your face...and try to destroy it by using a high powered hose or a long stick..

just make sure you can get away....

Having some smoke around you helps too... they fly away from it.
