Okay, let me try this again. Apparently people were confused with my question before. I want to know when it *typically* starts getting nicer again in Seattle (I know we're not capable of knowing exactly when it will, I'm just talking about on average). I'm sitting here living and working in the Seattle area and getting really depressed because there's been way too much sun here since March, there's been nothing BUT sun the past week or so, and there isn't expected to be anything else for at least a couple weeks. It's insane!! Seattle is supposed to have nice weather. When does it usually come back??

  1. Nice weather IS having the sun out.  Here in Nebraska and the Midwest, we have had rain practically non-stop, causing major floods.

And down in the carribean, tropical storms are also causing major flooding.

A few days of sun is good once in a while for any enviroment.

    Enjoy it while it lasts.

But to answer your question, I'm guessing it would start getting nice maybe the last quarter of summer (late July or early-mid August), when the main heat wave has passed.

  2. It has to much sun?

Welcome to the pacific northwest, where we do not tan, we rust!

Depression is very common......settle has more rain then anywhere, even Oregon!

We take "cabin fever" to a whole new level.....

If you want nice and all that head down to California..... up here we have sun rooms (artificial lighted rooms) and a love for rain and many are diagnosed with depression or even chronic depression.....one older family member heads to the malls, and grocery store for the light, and to get out of the rain.

Central and eastern parts of Washington/Oregon are nicer but not so much green. I moved to central Oregon and do miss the rain.....but sill have my "sun" room!

  3. to me, having the sun out is nice weather. my sister lives out there and she typically sees sunny weather all summer and then in the fall it turns to rain. the temps usually are 70's and low humidity.

if you're looking for high humidity and high temps, you won't get that there.

  4. Usually the nice weather will return by mid-October on average.  Sometimes it can start in late September or early October, but only if you're lucky.  I know how you feel - I live in the Seattle area too and all this sun (with no rain or thunderstorms to break the absolute boredom) is soooo depressing!!

Too bad no one cares about how uncomfortable people like you and me are this time of year and only call us stupid or crazy, or assume we're joking.

  5. if your idea of nice is rain/cloudy, then definitely by november.  possibly september or october
