WBC: We will expel Luxembourg from our organisation – Boxing News
Following BBBC’s decision of not allowing promoters, managers and fighters to participate in the event being headlined by Chisora vs. Haye, the WBC has also taken its stance. The WBC has coped up with BBBC’s position saying that it will ban anyone involved
in the event. Since Luxembourg Boxing Federation is sanctioning the event, the WBC has announced that it will ban the federation their organisation.
According to the statement of WBC, “We will expel Luxembourg from our organisation ... as well as any person or institution that has relations with them. We will not condone such a disgraceful behaviour [from Chisora] after seeing that this boxer has no
idea of what good behaviour is, by accepting to participate in the intent to threat and embarrass the organisation of boxing with such an act. I am sure the European Boxing Union is on the verge of a strong position against Luxembourg; I am also furious with
the promoter [BoxNation and Sauerland are promoting Haye v Chisora] who is trying to blast the ethics, honesty and seriousness of the sport of boxing.”
According to Jose Sulaiman, President of WBC, none of the fighters has British Boxing License. Chisora’s license was cancelled after his hearing with the BBBC against three major misbehaviour charges, whereas Haye had given up his boxing license last year
when he announced retirement. Since both the fighters do not hold British fighting licenses, they cannot fight within the premises without BBBC’s approval.
However, the fight has garnered interest from the public due to which Luxembourg Boxing Federation is sanctioning it.
Chisora license was cancelled after he slapped Vitali Klitschko at the pre-fight conference, threw water in the face of Wladimir Klitschko after Chisora lost to Vitali and was involved in a public brawl with David Haye.
In his recent interview, Haye revealed that Chisora has been following him on streets and to restaurants to get the fight done. Chisora, who has been recommended by the BBBC to take anger management therapy, is now in rage to take on Haye, whereas Haye is
confident that he can beat Chisora easily.
