WE Hi-Capa 5.1 Slide not staying back after ammo is emptied out

Question

I recently purchased a WE hi-capa 5.1, the 7" barrel version. Currently using green gas for this gun. When the gun runs out of ammo the slide strangely doesn't stay back (almost as if the slide catch isn't catching). If you pull the slide back with an empty clip then the slide will stay back.

The gun still shoots fine but was wondering if anyone has an idea why the slide catch isn't catching when the clip is emptied out. Any kind of input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
